Unapologetically You

After breakfast with a beautiful friend, we found ourselves deep in conversation about the things she longed to do, the dreams she carried quietly within herself, yet held back from because of the fear of being judged. That conversation sent me spiralling down the rabbit hole of how deeply we allow other people’s opinions, projections, distortions and limitations to infiltrate our lives and sabotage our desires.

So many of us have been programmed to shrink ourselves. Programmed to become conservative with our dreams, our expression and our truth simply to fit inside the narrow comfort zones of others. We silence parts of ourselves to avoid criticism. We dim our light to make others feel safe. We abandon pieces of our soul in exchange for acceptance.

But here is the truth I want to share with you…

We cannot control what others think of us. We cannot control what others say about us. Therefore, we must stop giving those opinions power, space and authority within our world.

People will judge.

Haters will hate.

Small minds will attempt to diminish what they cannot understand.

But none of that has anything to do with your worth, your brilliance or your right to shine unapologetically.

We are not here to play small. We are not here to blend in. We are not here to spend our lives seeking permission to exist.

We are here to be sovereign.

To be powerful.

To be wildly, uniquely and fully ourselves without limitation, without apology and without boundaries placed upon us by fearful minds.

The only opinions that truly matter are the ones we hold of ourselves.

And when we bear witness to our own diversity, our unique essence, and give ourselves permission to express it freely in all its magnificent forms, free from ridicule, free from bigotry, free from enslavement, something extraordinary happens.

We rise.

We rise into our power.

We rise into our truth.

We rise into wholeness.

And in that space, there is nothing and no one capable of holding us down, because we were never designed to live beneath our potential.

We were always meant to reach for the brightest star…

Because we are the brightest star.
